Make a Wireless Printer
Students, teachers, mangers, workers and many other people need printers to print out their documents or files. There are many kinds of printers and they may confuse you to choose the best one for you. Have you ever think if it’s possible to make your printer wireless?
You can cause your printer to synchronize with the computer without wires using a router that uses a printing server. You can either apply a disjointed wireless printing server or you can link a print host to a LAN output via a wireless routing device. You could also prefer to purchase a printer that already has a wireless printing server built into it. It can at times work out more inexpensive to purchase a printer with the capacities to do this, rather than buying the additional hardware necessary to set it all up.
Here is one scenario that may help, bearing in mind that I do not know your network configuration so it may be a little presumptuous.
1- All computers should use wireless network adapters, the printer should come with built in wireless connection too
2- The router should support wireless connection for at least four computers
3- Your wireless printer will join the network as a fourth computer and as a result will be seen by the other computers to use
The following steps need to be taken in case you want to use a wireless printer with your computer.
Use a Router
The router should be such that it serves the purpose of a printing server. Alternatively, we can also use a separate wireless printing server, which will not need any router as such. Otherwise, the print server has to be connected to a local area network via a wireless routing device, called router.
There are printers available that have wireless printing server built into it. In that case, separate router is not required. Therefore, it is advisable to buy a printer with such a built in soft and hardware, as it is cheaper than going for a new routing device or any other necessary hardware to set up the wireless printer.
However, if you want to attach a printer through a wireless router, you need to do the following.
Click on the control panel, then on the "add hardware" and on the list coming up select the printers. When the printer list comes up, select your installed printer name. The printer must be connected to the router before you add it to the list as explained here. Sometimes any blocking software like firewall etc. has to be turned off before you start this procedure as it may stop the router/printer installation process.
Share your printer on a wireless network
It does not require any miracle to have a printer on wireless network. However, every computer connected with the network needs to have a printer installed on it. There is also a possibility of making your printer as a" shared printer" for such network. For doing so, you must follow the following steps:
Click on the control panel of your computer. Connect on the alternative "printers and other hardware installed" and notice the list that comes up. Select the printer you have from this list and then click the button "share this printer". Once the sharing window appears, click on the radio button, next to share this printer. You must enter a share name and then press OK.
Therefore, the single printer for the entire network becomes a wireless printer for all the computers on the network. No matter, whether a computer is a laptop or a desktop computer.
Hence, to move more towards a cleaner working environment, we have the "Wireless Printers". Every user is now interested to use the wireless gadgets nowadays and printers come on the top of this list as a wireless printer can help us to do remote printing as well. The technologies stated above can facilitate a wireless printer connection without any problems.
